Grand Canyon is Grand!

The Grand Canyon: Just as grand as it sounds

Ash. Chipper-as-shit as usual.

The funny thing about this photo is that it was taken by an asian man that could not speak a word of English. We held this pose for several minutes while he tried to figure out our backwards American technology. He was very cheerful about it though... those Asians always seem to have more fun than us.

Death Valley

We survived 3 whole days camping in Death Valley

Death Valley Sand Dunes

It would be easy to die here. Hence the name.

The tallest sand dune.

What can I say, Josh likes getting big air off of sand dunes and Ben likes taking sweet action photos.

Ben and Josh, bringin sexy back.

If you were wondering if Ashley Huffman was up to her old tricks... yes she is.

So... You know the age old question, "Where does charcoal come from?" Well... it comes from the Death Valley charcoal kilns. No joke.

Josh & Ash

If you look closely at the sign it is warning us to stay out of this mine shaft because of dynamite and dangerous toxic vapors. Good thing we brought our bad ass bandanas.

Zion National Park & a Bit of Arizona

Josh, Ash & I said good bye to Jason & The Beaver after spending a week at Lake Powell.

Beaver said, "it was a magical time Jason and I had, blasting death metal as we traveled back to Salt Lake City". As for us, we simply continued on with our aimless journey.

We made our way through nowhere Arizona & still managed to come across something historical.

Zion National Park

Josh kept a keen eye for any wildlife.

Ben & Ash taking a break for a snacky snack.

Here is Ashley & she is chipper-as-shit to be at the top of
Zion National Park.

After weeks of collecting random clothing from various thrift shops, through out numerous states, Josh is now ready to brave the freezing temperatures.

Freezing & windy!

To make it through the cold night, it was a must!

Back on the old dusty trail.

Our new found friend (the nameless Kangaroo) is still hanging tight with us.

It was wood... now it's rock

Even though he had to step over the sign stating, stay off bridge.
He was persistent and Josh stood on that rock tree bridge thing.

Nice View of the National Park

I'm on a boat!

So with winter fast approaching we decided to hit up Lake Powell for a quick boating adventure. We weren't too concerned about it being too cold because we just spent the last six months in Alaska where it is cold as shit. That being said, I promised myself I wouldn't get in the water until it was at least 60 degrees outside (strictly to avoid hypothermia).

If you have never been to Lake Powell you should probably visit at some point. Its pretty awesome. Just imagine the grand canyon, but filled up with water.

It isn't all fun and games there though as many believe. The list of dangers and minor inconveniences definitely increased as we journeyed further into the desert. For example:

The desert is where scorpions live.

Also, if you thought you were moderately safe out on the water because scorpions are land dwelling creatures... think again. That's right folks, we're talking about water scorpions.

If you want firewood, too bad. Unless you are willing to carry it long distances "little-Indian-man style" like Jason Moffat.

I heard rumors of extreme liberals who are thinking about blowing up the Glen Canyon Dam. Kinda crazy? Yes, and I don't think I should need to explain why, but let me just say that I know for a fact that at least 1/2 of the hobo drifters have at one point in their lives taken a treading water dump. Think about that.

Also I feel like I should mention sand. Cause its pretty annoying.

Anyways Lake Powell was fun and I think the rest of the story can be told via the following video.

Oh and I would like to thank the Beave for hanging out with us and taking the boat (and Jason)back to civilization. Sorry about the soggy cinnamon rolls dude.

Fun times with guns

Doesn't that look like the most fun you've ever had?

Howling all the way... we came home.

And so came to pass our much anticipated return to Salt Lake City/Payson/Santaquin, Utah (the homeland of Jason, Ben and I). Sadly we didn't take any photos while we were in town but rest assured our visit was a success. We spent most of the time partying with family and friends but we did find a few minutes to teach Ashley how to shoot guns and Tara how to man a clay pigeon thrower.

Utah, you were a darling as usual. It was awesome to see everyone. Keep on keepin' on.

...as we ran, with the fire behind us and the torch in my hand...

stay tuned.
